Lucy has been keeping me so busy! So busy that I’ve had no time to take outfit photos or even put together a post-worthy outfit. So busy that I’ve had no time to even do my hair (please reference the below photo). I keep asking myself what it will be like if I have a baby one day since a little pup is keeping me so busy. She is worth every minute of missed sleep, though…and trust me, I love my sleep.
I didn’t get to take many outfit photos this weekend because my boyfriend and I spent most of it on the road to West Virginia and back to pick up this little pup, Lucy. I have been wanting a Boston Terrier for as long as I can remember. As a huge animal lover, I wanted to rescue one instead of going to a breeder. Sort of a tall order for a rescue dog…female, young, Boston Terrier, good with kids, good with other dogs, no major health issues…. After months and months of searching, I was this close (picture me squeezing my thumb and forefinger together so they are almost touching) to going to a breeder. Then, on Friday morning, as I was doing my daily search on PetFinder, I found her. 5 months old and perfect, in a shelter in West Virginia. We immediately called the shelter, who said that many people had emailed but we were the first to call. We were in luck! Apparently the previous owner had some sort of life changing event and could no longer care for her. Of course, I can’t imagine how anyone could leave this sweet girl behind. I am in love!
On our last day in Seattle, we went to the Space Needle and explored the Chihuly blown glass exhibit. I missed the exhibit when it came to my local museum so I was pumped to finally get to see his work–which was amazing. Despite being in the “rainy” Northwest, we were blessed with five days of fantastic weather which helped make for an even better trip. I think it’s time to start planning the next vacation!
When it’s cold outside, I always want to wear oversized sweaters, scarves and hats. I stood outside to take these photos for about as long as I could stand it, before getting back in the car, blasting the heat and heading home to a cup of hot tea. It’s weekends like this past one when I wish I had no obligations so I could stay in sweats all day. Unfortunately, that rarely happens, and since it’s not acceptable to wear sweats outside, outfits like this happen.
I spent Sunday doing a Holiday House Tour of some beautiful homes in Richmond. We got to go inside and see how each homeowner decorated his/her house for the holidays. All it did was make me super jealous and want a grand home to decorate, but I guess my little apartment will have to do for now.
I’ve decided that this is my new favorite dress. It is super comfy and I can’t wait to make it a regular part of my wardrobe. I’ve also decided that growing out bangs is the most annoying process ever. If you don’t want to keep bangs for life, I suggest never cutting them!
