Mixed Prints

My boyfriend and I went out to dinner and to see Life of Pi last night.  If you haven’t seen (or read it), I highly recommend both the movie and the book.  It was a beautiful night and one of the first in which we didn’t need to wear coats so I decided to debut my $10 Lauren Conrad blazer.  I’ve been loving the idea of pairing florals with stripes and decided to finally go for it.  I think I could get used to this mixing prints thing.

Busy Busy

If the lack of blog posts wasn’t indication enough, I had an extremely busy week last week. To the point that not only did I not have time to take blog photos, I barely had time to put together an outfit worthy of a post.

On a side note:  I am going to start buying everything LC Lauren Conrad from Kohl’s.  Is anything ever not on sale there?  Just yesterday I got a blazer for only $10.  I think they might be on to something here.

Overdressed

I always wear too many layers on days that end up being warm.  I’m not sure how it happens, but it does.  I wake up in the morning, check the weather and dress appropriately, only to find that the weatherman underestimated the temperature for the day (by about 20 degrees).  Subsequently, I always end up in not enough clothes the following day, which is what’s happening to me today.

Paint the Town Red

I bought this skirt at J Crew Factory this past weekend while returning a Christmas gift that didn’t fit.  Never mind the fact that I already have it in green, blue and yellow.  In my defense, the store was almost empty, as they are transitioning seasons. And it was on sale.

Despite what the title of this post might suggest, I did not actually paint the town red in this outfit.  Unless you count my office (and the dentist office) as the town, that is.

Whimsical

I got this dress a while ago and had been waiting for the perfect occasion to wear it.  When I bought it, I envisioned wearing it to some fabulous function.  Yesterday, when I stepped back into reality and realized that I had nothing fabulous happening in my life anytime soon, I threw it on with flats and a blazer and wore it to the office.  A nice lady on the elevator told me that she loved it and that I looked “whimsical.”  The rest of the day, I felt sad that I waited so long to wear it.  The dress is the fabulous part–who cares about the occasion (or lack thereof)?
