Where is Fall?

Monday was unusually cold and I felt unprepared with my outfit choice.  Yesterday morning, I woke up and decided I would not make the same mistake.  I walked out the front door of my apartment and immediately regretted the decision.  It was hot and muggy.  Running late and knowing that it’s always cold in my office, I decided to stick with what I put on.  I was literally sweating taking these photos and my hair was growing bigger by the minute.  Where oh where is fall?

Post Vacation Depression

My mom called me yesterday to ask if I was depressed due to not being at the beach anymore.  Well, I came home on Saturday to a dead car battery.  Yesterday, I spent money on a new car battery.  Today I am sitting in a cube and not on a beach chair.  Kind of depressing stuff.  The weather, however, is putting me in a fantastic mood.  Yesterday was such a beautiful day that I didn’t even care about dropping $100 on a new car battery. The fact that I was able to wear leggings outside just makes all of that stuff not seem to matter.  Fall is finally here!

Warm Colors

Most of my weekend was spent relaxing.  My “big” plans were shopping for a new sofa (okay, this IS what old age looks like) and watching the Olympics.  I wore this outfit out to lunch and to furniture stores.  I love warm colors because they make me think of the leaves changing color in the fall.  I decided that if I start to wear fall-like clothing, I can will the season into existence.  Exhibit A: warm colors and a scarf.  For some reason, it’s still going to be 90 degrees today….

Wrinkles Included

This shirt should come with the disclaimer, “wrinkles an abnormal amount during daily actives.”  It’s been a while since I’ve worn it but I do not remember it wrinkling this much at all.  I thought about undressing, steaming it, and redressing before I took these photos, but I thought that would be dishonest.  Or maybe I just thought it was too much work.  Either way, here I am, in all my wrinkled glory.

80s Fabulous

How amazing is this 80s skirt?  I saw it at a thrift store in Boulder and just had to have it. Since I am on a shopping hiatus, I lucked out when my boyfriend said he would buy it for me.  Something about the colors paired with the jewel design.  It’s just perfect.  I’m not a huge fan of the elastic waist band, though.  It sort of says “80s jog suit” instead of “awesome vintage 80s skirt”.  Maybe next time I will wear a belt.  Live and Learn.
