Casual Everyday

I used to work in a big corporate office.  Everyday besides Friday was business casual. When I moved to my much smaller office, with only one other team member, I kept showing up in my business casual attire.  Since I have a strong distaste for dress pants, every day was a skirt or dress.  That was fine and dandy until it became freezing and I had to wear tights all the time.  Recently, my team member and I decided to put into place “Casual Everyday.”  What is the point in getting all dressed up just for each other?  I am really enjoying wearing jeans to work on a Tuesday.  It’s the little things.DSC_0043 DSC_0022 DSC_0026 DSC_0013 DSC_0038

Lazy Days

I have been spending my days lazily, in bathing suits and cover ups, lounging on the beach and sipping margaritas by the pool.  I honestly can’t think of a better way to round out the summer.  No responsibility, no reason to get dressed up.  This really is the life.  We had dinner and played putt-putt tonight, which required some “real” clothes.  I chose another easy summer staple.  I’m definitely not going to be ready for business casual when next Monday rolls around.

Fall is coming!

I have definitely been forcing it with my wardrobe during these last days of summer; wearing cardigans over long sleeved tops and trying to pair scarves with just about anything.  These past few days have been amazing, though!  Low humidity, cooler at night, my kind of weather!  How excited am I that I can wear jeans AND boots at the same time and not be hot!?  Pretty darn excited, I tell ya.  Now if only it was cool enough to start wearing sweaters…

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

I am finally all moved in!  Not everything is unpacked or exactly where it needs to be yet, but we are getting there.  Last night we took a break and went to a baseball game with a couple of friends.  We got rained on towards the end but it was a fun time, nonetheless.  I just wish I brought my rain coat and wellies!

Denim on Denim

Friday night was fantastic.  We threw some fish on the grill and watched the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics.  I couldn’t stay awake long enough to see them announce the  US, though.  Sadly, I think I only made it to the Ns.  Is this what old age looks like?

This is what I wore (until I got too tired and put on sweatpants).  These shorts are Genetic Denim, which I LOVE.  I honestly don’t know how they get their fabric so soft, but every other jean company should be stealing their secret.  I think this pair is about two sizes too big which makes them extra comfortable.  I also have them in just plain ol’ blue denim; same size, same fit, which means I get the “boyfriend” look without having to cut up a pair of my boyfriend’s jeans.  It’s a win-win.
