I had such a wonderful weekend with family and friends. I went bridesmaid dress shopping for my sister’s wedding and saw the Great Gatsby. If you haven’t seen it yet, go immediately! We celebrated my birthday, my mom’s birthday and Mother’s Day and ate entirely too many cupcakes from Pearl’s. If I had it my way, every weekend would be like this one.

Anchors Aweigh

Well, Forever 21 to the rescue again. I saw a navy blue sweater at J. Crew Factory with a white anchor on it that I just had to have. I, of course, waited too long and it sold out. I found this one shortly after and decided to buy it, ignoring the fact that the only size left was slightly too big for me. Better too big than too small, right?

Cold

It was a chilly weekend. After being out in the cold on Sunday, I came home to find that my heater was broken. Thanks to John the maintenance man (who drove an hour out of his way on Sunday night) both my heat and faith in mankind have been restored. And I no longer have to wear three layers of clothing inside my own place.

Lazy Days

I have been spending my days lazily, in bathing suits and cover ups, lounging on the beach and sipping margaritas by the pool. I honestly can’t think of a better way to round out the summer. No responsibility, no reason to get dressed up. This really is the life. We had dinner and played putt-putt tonight, which required some “real” clothes. I chose another easy summer staple. I’m definitely not going to be ready for business casual when next Monday rolls around.

Hot Hot Hot

Yesterday was HOT. Like disgustingly, hit-you-in-the-face hot. So when I was dressing to head to the Yeasayer concert, I was searching for the least amount of clothing possible and loose fitting items. This shirt was the perfect solution. It’s airy and loose fitting (perfect for 96 degree weather) with just enough detailing to not look sloppy.

The Yeasayer show was amazing. It was my last concert for a while which means I will hopefully have some time to catch up on my sleep. Happy Hump Day everyone!
