Beg, Borrow and Steal

I think I am in stage three of dealing with my no-shopping-for-SIX-months-challenge. The first stage was confidence. I said to myself ‘you can totally do this…you have over 100 dresses alone in your closet, not to mention all of the other clothes. You don’t need new things.’ That confidence quickly turned to sadness in stage two. Now, in stage three, I am willing to do anything and everything for new clothing. I literally begged my mom to buy me this dress. I’m pretty sure I used “it can be an early Labor Day present” as a reason why I should I have it. Apparently now Labor Day is a gift-giving holiday. Luckily, I have an awesome mom who took pity on my sad, pathetic, clothes-less soul and caved and bought me this dress. Thanks, Mom! Maybe next I’ll try for Columbus Day and Election Day.

I love days like today. It was actually reminiscent of a Fall day. So much better than the HOT summer days we are about be hit with. When that happens, you will hear me begging for September and October. I felt slightly like a walking J. Crew ad in this outfit, although a J. Crew model would never look this wrinkly. So deceiving! Perhaps they should get rid of catalogs and have bloggers be real life catalogs. I will volunteer to wear everything from J. Crew to work and report back to you guys on the comfort level and whether or not it wrinkles easy. Oh, a girl can dream….

Hi There!

I wrote a post about this Hi There from Karen Walker line at Anthropologie when it was first introduced in the beginning of April. After my dreams became consumed with visions of Karen Walker dresses dancing in my head, I knew I had to have one. I finally decided on the red one. I headed over to anthropologie.com, with my trusty credit card in hand, but alas, I had taken too long to decide! The red one was sold out in my size. After that, I knew I had to act fast. I found this navy one with the same print, same vintage feel, just a slightly different cut and immediately scooped it up. I love it! I will be checking back often though, praying that someone will return that red one in my size.
