This weekend, I went to Pittsburgh for one of my best friend’s bridal showers. It was a lovely weekend and so much fun catching up with some of my friends that I don’t get to see too often. Whenever I have an event, such as a shower or a wedding, my first impulse is to buy a new dress. I stand in front of my closet and whine “I have nothing to wear,” a ridiculous lie, and end up shopping for something that I don’t need. This time, I was forced to wear something that I already own, and I think the result turned out not so bad. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Hey, sometimes shopping in my own closet, I am surprised at what I have. You look absolutely fantastic in that dress- and paired with that necklace, you couldn’t have asked for anything better!

I know exactly what you mean about buying new dresses. I think part of it has to do that when we dress up for an event its likely that we’ll be photographed, so we want something new and pretty to wear. I really just need to buy 1 great black dress that I can accessorize many ways so I stop buying dresses to only wear once.
This was fun. Let’s do it again! And, of course, you look great!
Thanks for taking my photos
Love the color blocking of your outfit……yellow to blue to orange. VERY NICE!!!!
Beautiful dress! You look fab!

I am guilty as well on buying a new outfit for “an event”. I think we all just want to look our best. I had a black tie event that I went to several months ago and really wanted to buy a high end designer dress. Seeing all the red carpet dresses just makes you want to look as glamorous even though it’s pricey. I ended up borrowing a dress, shoes & jewelry from a friend that looked a million bucks!
So my lesson learned was if I don’t want to buy it – maybe ask a friend to borrow something – they may have it. I should do that more often or have a swap party.

I definitely need to get better about borrowing too!
Haha! I always convince myself I need a new dress for pretty much any occasion. Shopping in your own closet can be pretty fun though. Love the dress !
I just found your blog and I have to admit, that I feel in love with your style, you look great in nearly everything your wearing
In just a few weeks I’m invited to join a weeding, the first one as an adult
I have no clue what to wear and I wish there was the possibility to shop my closet for a cute wedding dress, but there is none. So I’m on a hunt for the perfect dress for weeks now.
with regards,
Jenny
